My story
Hi !
I decided to write you a short text to introduce myself a little more. I officially started playing the drums at the age of 13, but already at 6 years old, I had an attraction for percussion ! After several years of requests, my parents finally agreed to enroll me in private lessons. There was a spark. As soon as I got back from school, I went down to the basement to practice as long as possible !
Shortly after, my father gave me an album, a classic, which changed my life….LED ZEPPELIN III ! The power of John Bonham was my main source of inspiration with the song Immigrant Song. Then there was: Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Grand Funk Railroad, Nazareth and many more.
I perfected my drumming with Jazz, Funk, Motown methods, with Gene Krupa, Buddy Rich, Elvin Jones, Clyde Stubblefield, etc. To then make a mix to my image ! Since then, I have discovered many drummers who have caught my attention such as Mark Guiliana, Nate Smith, Ilan Rubin.
When I was 16, I played with a rock band called SENS, but it didn't work out. My evolution continued, after a brief stint in CEGEP, I became a teacher, at age 20, in a private school in Terrebonne. And guess what ? I still teach there !!! I try to transmit my passion to a new generation of drummers.
For 10 years I was not part of any group. Then the lockdown happened. I pulled out my drums, just for fun. I had a very strong need to start playing again and quickly, this need became a necessity.
For the past two years, I have been perfecting my passion more and more. My first pro experience at “Wild Studio” for recordings with my current band ATOMIK TRAIN was a magical experience that I’ll never forget. Lots of studio projects are coming up with the band in 2023. I also aim to partner with other artists as a session drummer. I would also like to present clinics as an artist ambassador.
In 2022, Luka Drums once again crossed my path. In my early days, I tasted the first generation of LUKA snare drums and I remember the sound they had. It is always impossible for me to explain the tone and the feeling of the drums. But now I can see the incredible value of their complete kits. It is therefore with enormous pride that I will represent Luka Drums as an ambassador.
Thank you to this exceptional team for seeing something special in me and giving me this chance, rest assured that I’ll put all my heart into making the name of Luka Drums shine !
